An interactive invite experience for my 007-themed birthday shindig.

Key Milestones

A quick glimpse at the moments i was a part of

I feel incredibly lucky to have contributed to some awesome teams and projects.
Here's the highlight reel for this one.

If you scroll down below this, you'll see the backstory on this role/project too.

Recreating a family crest

I did some digging and found a "Steer" family crest from Surrey in the 1300s. I'm not sure if they are my ancestors or not but it was good enough for me to use it for this one and built a digital family crest.

Creating a targeted map of NSW

I then built a map of NSW and an animation that focussed crosshairs on Sydney since that's where most of the invitees were.

Custom code names and CMS profiles for each invite

I uploaded a list of my invitees into a CMS with codenames, contact fields and status fields attached.

Configuring a user flow and integrations

I then staged screens based on user interactions so that it would cater the flow to their choices. Based on their final choice and information input (RSVP, contact details, allergies etc.) I configured an API to update the CMS and send them and myself an email confirming.

Allow me to regale you with a tale

I'll try keep it brief.

For my birthday, I decided a simple black-tie 007-themed party was not enough to build the hype. This was my first time throwing a birthday party in 10 years and wasn't a significant number (unless you're a Kobe fan like me). So I built an invite app that gave them a personalised agent code name and custom built interactions to navigate them to RSVP. It was a hit and everyone achieved their mission for the night - turning up looking suave!
